When does online registration close?
Online pre-registration for the Locust Grove event will close Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at midnight.
Can I show up and register for the 5k or 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on race day?
Yes.
Race day registration will be available on-site from 12:30-1:30pm EST.
Can I pick up my bib (5k only) and t-shirt on race day if I registered late?
Yes. Race day packet pickup will be available from 12:30-1:30pm ET.
Can I transfer my 5k bib to another runner?
Your bib is chipped with YOUR name, YOUR age, YOUR gender. Trading bibs without notifying us will impact race results for all in the age group. If you need to transfer a bib, you can do so ahead of time by emailing info@rachelsgift.org.
Is there a certain date I must register by in order to receive my race packet (with t-shirt) for race day?
Yes. Register by September 24, 2023 to ensure that we have your size and style ready for you on race day. If you register between September 25 and October 18, we will do our best to have your preferred t-shirt available on race day but cannot guarantee it due to printing turnaround times. We promise to do our best! If you're running the 5k, your bib will be ready for pickup regardless.
When will I receive my race packet?
Race packets will be available for pickup at 76 Sloan Street in McDonough, Tuesday-Thursday, October 17-19 9:00 am-3:00pm. Or at the race site Saturday, October 21, 2023 beginning at 12:30pm.
Can I register a child under the age of 18?
Yes. If you would like your child to receive a t-shirt and be eligible to win a medal, you must register them. If you choose to not register them, your child is welcome to join you, but will not receive a t-shirt or be entered to be in contention for a medal.
While we want to maximize fundraising for Rachel's Gift, we do not want to discourage your children from participating with you! Children must be supervised and accompanied by an adult at all times at the event.
Sweating just isn't my thing. Can I just make a donation?
Yes, we understand. You can make a donation here. Thank you for your support!
What is your refund policy?
Refunds will not be granted for the Angel Dash. If you have registered but cannot attend, your registration fee will be considered a virtual registration and you will still receive your Angel Dash items!
What time does the race start?
The event will begin promptly at 2pm EST. Gates open at 12:30pm EST. There will be a photo booth, vendor area and a concession stand to keep you occupied until race time!
We can’t wait to see you but we want to be ready for you so please try to not enter the venue before 12:30pm EST. The Tanger outlet mall is just down the street so if you get there early or are staying in Locust Grove, feel free to enjoy some shopping before you arrive!
Traffic on a Saturday in Henry County can be particularly bad so please plan accordingly. Strong Rock Parkway will close at 1:45pm EST so you will not be allowed to enter after that time for the safety of the runners.
Where are we running exactly?
You will be running on the Strong Rock Christian School campus which is a USATF Certified Course #GA17059WC. The course terrain is pavement and very flat.
The 1 mile walkers will be walking the track around the football field.
What are the 5k medal categories?
New for 2023, we are awarding the first 100 finishers a medal. Race times will still be posted in the vendor area.
What happens if there is bad weather?
A little rain won't stop the Angel Dash 5k. However, if there are major weather warnings, check your email for updates.
Do I have to pay for parking?
No. Free on-site parking is available.
What happens if I require First Aid?
No worries. Course attendants will be available to assist you if needed. In addition, we will have EMT services onsite.
Can my dog run with me?
No. We love dogs however, pets are not allowed on the campus of Strong Rock per campus rules. Please leave pets at home. An exception will be made for service dogs only; leash laws apply.
Will there be portable toilets onsite?
No need! Public toilets are available behind the stadium stands.
Running isn't my thing. Can I just walk the 5k course?
Sure! If you plan to walk the full distance, we request that you start in the back to allow runners closer access to the start line. It may also be best for you to walk the 1 Mile Walk course instead. If you choose to walk the full 5k course, please be aware that the memorial will start promptly at 3:00pm.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes. Strollers (and wagons) are welcomed, but will be asked to start in the back. Please be courteous of your fellow runners!
When will I receive my medal?
The first 100 people to cross the finish line will receive their medals as they cross. A both will be available to take your winners circle photo.
When will I receive my results?
Results will be posted in the winners circle beginning at 2:45pm. Additionally, a full list of results will be posted and stored here on angeldash.org after the event.
Final Note:
Please take pictures and hashtag them so you can be a part of the nationwide event photos! #angeldash
